I was reading earlier about how the Canadian government tried to send a disaster response team to help out, but the US federal government refused them permission to enter the United States. The incompetence and leadership vacuum right now is staggeringly huge…. this is a nightmare given form.

And I hate this - I would MUCH rather have seen Bush take leadership, seen the government work property in responding, seen as many people being saved and fed and clothed as possible. I don’t SAVOR this moment, which I know a lot on the right would say we liberals are doing.
I hate it, and I hate him - yes, him - for politicizing something that is so IMPORTANT to the basic needs of victims of this horrible disaster. I’m hopping, hopping mad.
