Busy today…what’s on YOUR mind?
Tuesday City Council blogging should be on schedule for tonight.
(Oh, and I should add: Greater Lowell for Peace and Justice is holding a candle vigil for the 2000 soldiers who have died in Bush’s unjustified illegal war, in conjunction with Moveon.org. It will be on the corner of Stevens and Chelmsford Streets at 6:30pm tomorrow (Wed, Oct 26). Bring candles, tasteful signs only please…it will be a sober event. RSPV here, or just show up. We will also have ballot initiative petitions for the Bring the National Guard Home campaign, so be sure you sign that if you support it, or at least want to see it on the ‘06 ballot).

I can’t say I’ve been horribly impressed by any city council candidate’s “position papers”, afterall they are all very similar “more jobs, better schools, safer streets!”, but I have to give credit to Richard Douglas for running for office at age 22. For all that is said about the indifference of young people, for him to take the time and really appears to have put a full effort into running for office is quite commendable. Good luck to him.

Thank you Mike! On the flyers my friends and I have been distributing, I chose those issues
based on the fact that they carry so much synergy with one another, as well as being issues
that I feel I could make the biggest impacts in.
I’ve had to take the rest of my days out of work until after Election Day so I could try and
devote all of my energy into reaching out to the neighborhoods and organizing our young
supporters. Even if the campaign fails, I’d like to think that all of this effort is going to
set the city up for a better future.
