Member of the reality-based community of progressive (not anonymous) Massachusetts blogs
So I promised that at some point I would tell you about something cool that I’ve been working on. Well here it is! Announcing BlogLeft Massachusetts, a forum with, for, and about blogging which will be held in Worcester on December 10th, 2005. All are invited, you don’t have to be a blogger to come, just be interested in blogs! The details are on the webpage, and below:
BlogLeft Massachusetts
A forum and gathering for Massachusetts progressive bloggers, readers, and other quirky liberal people
December 10th, 2005
10:30 to 4pm
Tatnuck Bookseller (directions)
Worcester, MA
Cost: $25 per person
Preregistration by Thursday, December 1st required.
Lunch is included.
You can also read our press release.
The gathering is intended to both be informative and also community-building. We will have two speakers, Stirling Newberry of bopnews.com (and popular diarist at dailykos.com) and Fredrick Clarkson, who in addition to blogging at his own site writes for Political Cortex and is working on a new group blog called Talk to Action. Lunch will be a buffet, and we will have breakout groups in the afternoon on various subjects.

You seem pretty organized on the left. I know that some righties claim that the left is behind in blogging.

I just heard about Open Source Media, the best of the best regarding blogs. I think they are non-partisan.

The left is getting organized all in good time. With blog aggregators like Leftyblogs.com coming online, it certainly brings everyone in under one roof so to speak.
The MA bloggers have formed a sort of a bond - a lot of us were commenters on other sites before forming our own, and this forum is something I’m hoping will bring that to the next level. I don’t plan on this being the last one.

We are getting organized thanks to Lynne!

Is Renee spamming us? OSM is the brainchild of the Little Green Fascists guy and some other shill for the GOP.
And yeah, I can’t wait for this thing.

Sorry not a troll or a spammer, but I’m a conservative. I try to keep my comments to the local issues. I’m not a blogger, but found Lynne’s site regarding the local election.

Yeah, Renee is [er meant to say NOT A] spammer, but a local with many of the same concerns I have about Lowell (but I do agree about OSM, it feels to me to be something less then democratic discussion based on its founders).

Why stop the fun at 4:30?
I have some suggestions for after the event:
4:30-6PM - Dinner at a nearby Vietnamese restaurant or at Tatnuck.
6-8PM - Don White at Cafe Fantastique, $6

Robin is a world class resophonic guitarist from Lee, she usually plays in music halls, so this will be a real treat.
Tell your non-blogging friends about the post-seminar activities,
have them meet you there and we can have a nice evening out.
