I just received an email from a friend who is gearing up for the Belle of The Ball…Here is her email text with a full explanation…
Hello all you former bridesmaids, prom goers and socialites….. How many weddings have you been in?? How many dresses do you have hanging in your closet? How many will you EVER wear again ????? You know that dress, the one you can’t BELIEVE one of your best friends made you wear–I swear I won’t mention any names!!!
ANYWAY….there is a program called “Belle of the Ball” in which you can donate your gently used bridesmaids/cocktail/evening gowns, shoes, hair accessories, purses, costume jewelry etc. to young girls that can’t afford big expensive prom dresses.
Any formal gowns from weddings, balls, college semi-formals etc. hanging around your closet please consider a donation. To make it super easy for you, we will be collecting gowns from people at work, friends, friends of friends etc. and any other items for donations and delivering them all at once to Anton’s cleaners. If you want to drop off some stuff to my house that would be great, I could even meet you somewhere….
These dresses are for girls that are referred by DSS or their school guidance councilor. Not everyone is as fortunate as we have been.
Whether it’s 1 gown or 10 it is a big help to some girl that might not get to go to prom!!
I am more than happy to pick up your donations to pass onto Rosalynd or you can drop them off at her house.
Here is Rosalynd’s Info:

I have twenty gowns that have never been worn. (All current styles, tags on, and most in black.) My niece received them in a shipment for her ebay business. We thought it would be great to donate them to your charity. Could someone pick them up either in Belmont or Reading?
