I’m listening to Stephanie Miller (AM 120/1430) and she covers the absurd and ridiculous in her radio show every day. Guess what? Our own state Senator Barrios’ crusade against Fluffernutter in schools made the cut onto nationally syndicated radio.
And now she’s using the Fluffernutter in-joke for other things. Sweet!
Hell it even made the LA Times (musta been a slow news day). Google “Barrios fluff” and you’ll see a cadre of news stories across the nation. I guess this is one way to get your name out there as a politician…

I hate to see a serious issue (terrible calorie-laden nutritionally-lacking foods in our schools, and child obesity rates) get such short shrift in all the ha-ha, but it is pretty funny. I think it has to do with how funny the word is…fluff…fluffernutter…heh.
BTW just as a warning to folks, Hub Politics is a blog which is “differently winged.”

Hey, I just searched Barrios & Fluff and theirs was the first on the list..I like the Fluff Monster at the top of the front page.
Sop, what do you mean by “differantly winged”?

Oh LOL, meaning conservative. A nice way to say “the opposition”.

Did Barrios think banning fluff was the topic that would help in with his campaign for District Attorney?

Well, he’s not running for Middlesex DA anymore, he’s simply running for reelection now. I don’t know what his future plan are but I suspect they don’t include the DA race again for a while. (Seeing that Leone and Coakley have those sewn up for as long as they want them, probably.)
