Thinking Out Loud for 12/15/2006

by at 5:09 pm.

Tomorrow on the 10am Thinking Out Loud radio show, we will be talking to a member of the Merrimack Valley People for Peace about the local peace movement, and where do progressives against the war go from here, now that the Democrats have control of Congress (let’s all hope for the strong and speedy recovery of Senator Johnson).

Meehan Enviro Forum Moved to Bigger Hall

by at 5:02 pm.

Sorry folks, just wanted to let you know where the Saturday (10am) Meehan Global Warming Forum is now going to be at Durgin Hall on UML’s south campus (the building next to the O’Leary library on Wilder). Apparently RSVP’s for the event are skyrocketing so they needed a larger space. Deval Patrick is scheduled to attend as well.

I’m happy to see such a large interest in this subject. We have had six years of frustration with both our outgoing governor, who failed to sign the RGGI, and our president who refused to sign Kyoto (or anything else to curb CO2 emissions for that matter). We humans should be in a panic about how far behind we are now.

Anyone noticing that we’ve had maybe 6-7 daytimes this whole season under 32 degrees? Yikes. Much as I hate winter, it’s disturbing as hell.
