Johnston to Step Down; Walsh Now DSC Member

by at 1:07 pm.

Sco has all the details, and a firsthand report. I’ve already said what I think about this (since it’s been rumored that Phil Johnston was planning to step down and pave the way for Walsh) but thanks to Phil for all his hard work, and kudos to Walsh, who deserves all the accolades he can get for Patrick’s resounding and hard-fought victory.

We need to rebuild the Democratic party in Massachusetts (I know, who’d a thunk it, since every elected official but a couple are Dems?). With a more active party, and more voters feeling ownership over their elections, there will only be more accountability, something sorely needed on all fronts.

My Interview with Niki Tsongas

by at 12:31 pm.

My Thinking Out Loud interview with Niki Tsongas, candidate for the special election for 5th Middlesex, is online at Community Connections.

This interview joins a previous one with another candidate, Jamie Eldridge, and next week we will talk with Lowell City Councilor Eileen Donoghue, also a candidate.

Just, what, like 20 more candidates to go after that? ;)
