Next Tuesday, April 3 at noon, Governor Patrick will be coming to UMass Lowell to present the monies allocated for the new nanotech center. Senator Pangiotakos wanted to invite the public to be there at this historic event.
It will take place at Alumni Hall, University Ave, UML North campus.

What happened to the Town Hall that DP was supposed to have in Lowell on Apr 2? I just went to devalpatrick.com and the listing has been deleted (as have several others apprently since there were about 8 Town Meetings listed as of last Saturday).

Joe,
I’m curious - Do you feel that way based on general principles, or are your feelings based on knowledge of this project in particular?

Dan: Joe is like that all the time. I’ve begun ignoring him. It doesn’t seem like he is interested in engaging in converation, just bitching and moaning.

Dan,
It is principles. I am a libertarian. Lynne, if I wanted your opinion I would fart.

Joe doesn’t believe in things that were started with taxpayer money.
Like the internet.

Joe,
I understand your position, and I appreciate your honesty in admitting a lack of knowledge of this project in particular - not that I think knowing more would necessarily affect your views, but nevertheless, it is better to be up-front about such things.
With that said, I respectfully question the wisdom of:
A) Criticizing a project you have admitted knowing nothing about - even if it doesn’t change your mind, I think it’s better to be at least marginally informed about such things,
and
B) Doing so using (as Jay points out) a medium developed with taxpayer’s money; it would seem the internet and the interstates would both be off limits if you’re not in favor of taxpayer support of anything, though to be fair, that’s not something you’ve explicitly stated here as of yet.

Joe, if I wanted your opinion, I could look them up in the Standard Book of Libertarian Ideas That Would Never Work In The Real World. And by the way, such class you have.
