Tomorrow night, the Pawtucketville Citizens Council is hosting a “meet and greet” for the city council candidates, which includes a forum-like format giving the candidates the stage to make statements and answer questions. It’ll take place tomorrow, Monday, October 1st, from 7pm to 9pm at the Wang School, West Meadow Rd.
This is your first chance to get a look at the city candidates for Council. Another forum will be held on Wednesday Monday, October 22 at 7pm, at Lowell High School’s Little Theater. Candidates Night for both City Council and School Committee will be at this one, sponsored by the United Teachers of Lowell.

I didn’t even know I had osteochondroses, but if that woman says I do, then I do.

I saw the results of CBA’s election on their website - do you know what they mean? Are Darcie and Lindolfo going to be back? Is the community still in charge?

Long CBA story there. I’m sure she will be posting about it.

There is no Wednesday October 22. There is a Monday.

You’re right…not sure which it is, Monday the 22 or Wednesday the 24. I’ll find out.

LOL PC, I deleted the spam you were responding to. It doesn’t usually hit a recent post like this, I don’t know what’s going on.
Yes, there’s a story behind the CBA elections, and I’m working on it. But the short of it is no, the community did not win, so no changes in the CBA as yet. It’s the why of the thing that is pretty amazing, and requires research before I write about it.

Dear Lynne,
I look forward to reading your well-researched piece on the cause of the CBA Board election debacle. I voted in the election but was unable to stay for the meeting afterward. In the meanwhile, it would be great if someone could just narrate what overt actions happened at the meeting (just a clear non-judgmental narrative). Posting comments at my blog (http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=109989787&blogID=314971060)
would be one way to discuss these things if leftinlowell needs more time to prepare.

She still intends to post on the CBA, but probably tomorrow at the earliest. Tonight she is at the forum for City Council candidates.

“Council hopefuls look to the future”
That was the headline to the article in the Sun allegedly covering the forum at the Wang School. This article speaks volumnes about how little the Sun regards the upcoming CC election!
No detail, lines like “It’s time for a change” “spoke about expanding the tax base” etc etc NO SPECIFICS! This could have been written after going through campaign literature! And to top it off, the Sun couldn’t even be bothered to send an employee…you’ll note it was written by a “Sun Correspondent”, that’s newspaper speak for “freelancer being paid by the story”.
What story did they assign a full time “seasoned” reporter to instead? “Moose Goes Off Deep End in Townsend”…even gave it the headline, front page above the fold!
Next time anyone see Kendal Wallace and he tells you what a great job the Sun is doing. (not even Lowell Sun any longer did anyone pick up on that?) Refer him to the ‘indepth’ article in yesterday’s paper and ask him how reading that article helps educate voters on which candidate stands for what!
