I know we are all still in election-analyzing mode, but I was reading Red Mass Group, the blog for Massachusetts Republicans and they had a post on the Massachusetts Federation of Young Republicans (isn’t that a contradiction? Just Kidding Eabo!
) and their efforts in this fall’s municipal elections.
“Of the 10 races [they] targeted 8 of those people won their election. [They] spent a weekend day and or held a fundraiser for each of these winners.”
I do not know if such an effort was mounted in Lowell. But if it was, it was certainly under the radar. Part of the problem, as I see it, is that we had Republicans supporting Democrats in the City elections. Granted these races are non-partisan but this is how you build your “farm team.”
I am sure that the local Republicans do not want advice from anyone that has anything to do with LiL but why put all the effort into campaigning for Healey, Ogonowski or Giuliani if you are not going to recruit, train and support “your” candidate in municipal elections?
