Another event you can attend to hear more about Barak Obama. I am only getting organizing info from one campaign here, so that’s what I’m posting. This is being held at a downtown loft. It sounds like a nice event.
Next Tuesday Massachusetts will join over twenty other states whose voters will significantly determine our Democratic nominee for the next President of the United States.
We are hosting Thaleia Tsongas Schlesinger, Democratic activist and twin sister of the late, great US Senator Paul Tsongas, in a conversation with you about her support for Barack Obama.
In the two caucuses and two primaries to date, Barack Obama has received the most votes and the most delegates from the most diverse coalition of Americans to vote in decades.
Tomorrow evening please join us to question, listen, consider and draw your conclusions about why so many voters throughout the country who share so many concerns like yours—the war; the economy; matters of equality and issues of justice, civic participation and national stature—have voted Obama.
When: Tomorrow, Wednesday, 30 January, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Where: 30 Market Street U8
Why: Join the conversation with Thaleia Tsongas Schlesinger, supporter, Obama for President
Hosts: Ms. J. Dayne Lamb and Mr. Gardner N. Stratton
30 Market is between the Leo Roy Garage and Centro, just past the Northern Mass Tel Credit Union building, with resident only parking in front of a garden. U8 is on the 2nd floor top of the stairs to the left; there also is an elevator. A coat rack will be in the hall. Lastly, our floors are cork so we ask that you not wear stiletto heels.
Wine, sparkling water, cheese and lively conversation on offer. Please, join us!

As a woman who supported Paul Tsongas from County Commissioner to US President…and dragged my female friends up and down the streets of Concord dropping literature to get a WOMAN ELECTED to the US CONGRESS, i can’t tell you how disappointed I am to see that Thaleia is not supporting the female candidate for president and helping to make history…finally….for women. She can vote for whomever she wants, but considering how hard we pressured women to stand up and work for and give to Nik, I think the least she could have done was stay publicly neutral.
How soon they forget.

So you’re arguing the same way as the NY NOW leadership? I’d say, for shame…
As a woman, a feminist, and active voter, I’m kind of offended by your comment. I do not see where it says that I can ONLY vote my gender. If I don’t think Clinton is the right candidate, regardless, I’m going to vote my conscience.
I think you could give Thaleia the same courtesy as well.

Right on Lynne,
I’m sick sick sick and tired of hearing people line up behind this guy because he has more melanin in his skin or this guy because he has a vagina. WTF CARES!?!?! It’s about electing the best person president, or from my point of view, finding the democrat, whichever one, that will win. Sure, voting for Obama over Hillary makes sense too if he shares your views more, and vice versa. But come on, why would anyone, ANYONE, base their vote on what’s between their legs rather than what’s between their ears? Man oh man.

Peter writes…”or this guy because he has a vagina”…Now THAT is an interesting visual. ;0)

Working to swing votes from Eileen Donoghue to Niki Tsongas is ‘trying to get a woman elected to the U.S. Congress,’ and a bold strike for women?
‘kay.

So HL wants people to vote for Hillary because she is the breast candidate rather than the best candidate?!?

I have yet to make my decision on who I am backing, but I agree… I really dislike it when someone tells me I have to vote for Clinton just because I am a woman.

Hey moonlight, it doesn’t always have to be “tit” for tat. Remember we’re looking for the best, not just repaying old debts. And it’s “now,” not “know.”
The Hussein comment, pathetic, just pathetic. People pulling that stuff out belong in the short bus.
I’m still trying to figure out which has a better chance of winning, and doubling my efforts now that Edwards is gone.

Hope the event went well. Just wanted to drop in and ask you to forward a “Hey there!” to J. Dayne Lamb. We used to socialize via writing connections, and I was just wondering what she’s up to.
Thanks!
