Today, on her blog Jackie tells us that the “ Citywide Parent Council will thank Superintendent Karla Brooks Baehr for her service to the Lowell Public Schools by donating books in her name to individual school libraries across the city.”
The CPC is asking individuals to purchase a book of their choice, at a 20% discount, from our local Barnes & Nobles (151 Merrimack St.); the book will be donated to the Lowell public school of your choice in honor of Dr. Baehr and in appreciation for her years of service to the City.
I telephoned the bookstore, gave them my credit card number and purchased my book. It took about 3 minutes The clerk was extremely helpful and gave me some good suggestions. So next year when students at the Moody School enter their library, there on the shelf will be a new book: The Girl’s Like Spaghetti: Why You Can’t Manage Without Apostrophes!
Thanks Dr. Baehr!
