From absurd fake outrage to…something beyond self-parodying. Dday of Digby fame had called it on the lipstick whining - it was fascinating to read her post and watch that all unfold as predicted - but she forgot to mention that the Fake Outrage Brigade, which failed to get their meme “Obama is a sexist!” into the media (even the networks did a pretty nice job of calling it was it was, I guess even they couldn’t believe such absurd suppositions), are now turning to Obama’s…fishism.
No analogy is safe. So, let’s brainstorm the common phrases Obama should avoid because the FOB (Fake Outrage Brigade) will object. Let me start:
“That’s straight from the horse’s mouth.” Is Obama calling Palin ugly?
“They’re throwing everything at me but the kitchen sink!” Obama must be saying that Sarah Palin belongs in the kitchen. That’s sexist.
“They are showing their true colors.” This is Obama playing the race card from the the bottom of the deck!
“The writing is on the wall.” Obama must be accusing McCain of vandalism.
Your turn!

All I know is for the love of god stay away from “Let’s call a spade a spade.” That would equal politcal death from anyone who utters it even if there is no racial intent. That is unless Obama were to say it.
Oh and what’s with the kook from SC? http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/0908/SC_Dem_chair_Palin_primary_qualification_is_she_hasnt_had_an_abortion_.html?showall
Does she think she’s helping Obama with that one?
Or Joe Biden yesterday in NH?

Does he think that’s helping his cause? If I’m advising McCain I’d run an ad saying something like- If he doesn’t think he’s qualified enough to be VP…why should you?

Oh and don’t forget this one- Randi Rhodes on CNN saying McCain (you know the guy who can’t comb his own hair because he can’t lift his arms abouve his head) was well treated while being a POW.

Obama needs to tell all of his supporters to shut their mouths. They are making this all to easy for McCain/Palin right now.

Guy, you sort of strike me as a sort of concern troll. In the guise of “giving advice” or seeming concern for the reputation of someone, you’re pulling up every link you can think of that discredits them.
In context (hell, just the sentence in question itself), that SC Dem Chair seems like she was trying to say “this person seemingly was only chosen for her severe pro-life views.” Now, it was a sort of mean way to say it, but it’s true. It’s hardly a smear or a lie.
In context, Biden was being awfully humble, and counterdicting a comment by a potentially divisive supporter. Here’s the relevant passages:
As to Randi’s comments, we DO know that McCain did the propaganda videos. Now, I’m not judging him with regards to caving in - lord knows at the first sign of pain I would be giving up my grandmother, nevermind my country. I’m a wuss. I’ve never heard of the exchange for “being treated well” but to be honest, she’s getting that somewhere. I’ve known Randi to be a gung-ho liberal but I’ve never known her to speak an untruth. Perhaps an exaggeration, but what DID McCain get from agreeing to propaganize for the North Vietnamese government? It had to have been something.
It’s likely she got that from McCain’s own book on his experience. It wouldn’t surprise me.
Anyway, knock off the concern trolling. You’re not fooling anyone.
