The Sun has a sense of humor

by at 8:43 pm.

I like the sense of humor the Sun has? Did you see the page one headliner in today’s paper, “Wilmington teens charged in Shawsheen Tech gun scare.”

And did you see the title of the article below that one? “Obama has firearm sellers worried”.

I am not sure what the motivation was for the Sun editors to assign reporter David Pevear to New Hampshire to report on this non-issue.

Obama’s position on the right of individuals to own guns is pretty clear, he believes “the Second Amendment create an individual right, and he respects the constitutional rights of American to bear arms. He will protect the rights of hunters and other law-abiding Americans to purchase, own, transport and use guns.”

By the way, this was Pervear’s second article in as many days on the presidential candidates. Yesterday’s piece focused on the Lowell Republican City Committee’s optimist view on McCain’s chances in this state and this city. Sorry Cliff. McCain will not win Lowell or Massachusetts. Now Dracut, that is a different story!

Yeah, I thought that article was rather strange..with the info reflected, I didn’t know whether Obama would single handedly eliminate the use of guns or make it easier for gun shops to become train shops!
Handguns, in general, legally held and secured properly in the home don’t bother me..it’s the dummies w/ uzie’s that bother me. Unfortunately, it’s the dummies that don’t follow the laws that we already have in place, that bother me and everyone else.
And SERIOUSLY, would the gun store owners of NH REALLY be voting for Obama? c’mon.

Dracut has more registered Democrats than Republicans, which I know is hard to believe. This town chose Buchanan over Dole in the 1996 GOP primary and will probably approve Question 1.

I don’t understand the rush on the guns. The proverbial “law-abiding citizen” the NRA screams about has nothing to worry about. Besides, you’d think if this crowd were concerned about law-abiding citizens they would want to do everything possible to make sure that ONLY law-abiding citizens could purchase weapons. I for one am absolutely floored that apparently no laws were broken in the tragic death of an 8-year-old at a gun show this week. We have age restrictions on smoking, drinking, driving, voting, tatooing, piercing, and access to certain entertainment, but it’s OK to hand a kid a loaded Uzi?!

    Too funny K-R-S! lol
I went on a little road trip to central NH for work this week and I felt like I was in another world. So many companies had their bill boards adorned with sayings like “Why not raise the minimum wage to $100 an hour” and “save our small government and vote McCain” and there were up to 30 signs on any major street corner (I saw no Obama’s) and Mimi’s comment about Dracut was too funny too! Dracut is the place where people that want to move to NH, but have to work in MA live.

With all the wolf-crying about Barack Obama banning guns, the NRA and their buddies had better hope that he pushes for some major gun control efforts, of they’re going to completely discredited.
