Well, I can’t post eight new items every day, now can I??
Here’s to start the discussion: speculate on the 2009 City Council race…which incumbents will seek reelection? Which will not? Do you see any new blood coming in? Will we still have a 5-4 GOBish majority?

what about school committee members?

Off topic, but this is newsworthy. Ever since I stopped my Lowell Sun subscription I have been searching for a source that brings the same in-depth reporting and credibility to the arena. Today’s edition proves that this hard-hitting style of journalism will flourish long after boring dailies like the Sun are gone. The National Enquirer is reporting (with pictures) that Mrs. Mc Cain has got a little somethin’ goin’ on da side. Now I’m sure that if this was published two weeks ago, it would’ve been dismissed as part of the vast left-wing conspiracy against the Repubs. Waiting until we voted just gives it a little more credibility. Just wondering, maybe Magoo picked Caribou Barbie as his VP as a slap at Cruella Deville. Either way, doesn’t look like Magoo’s cutting the mustard around el Rancho Senilio.

Henry Paulson explains his actions with the bailout (and why the stock market continues to tank).
It’s also clear that Paulson still doesn’t have the answers … and maybe not even a clue, which he unwittingly admitted today: “And to adequately reform our system, we must make sure we fully understand the nature of the problem which will not be possible until we are confident it is behind us,” he said.

Is that the issue with the final and definitive proof of Batboy?
As to SC or CC candidates, I see another year of a drought of candidates. I hope I am wrong.

any guess on the school committee members that may be running?

I think all the incumbents will. No ideas on new blood (or old failed candidates) interested in the SC yet.
I suspect we’ll start hearing the rumblings in Feb/March…

I don’t think so Papa, he can’t raise his arms high enough to cover his eyes to what really goes on in this city. Although he already got the Sun’s endorsement.

Does anyone know what’s going into the first floor of the Sun Building? The inside has been painted over with funky bright colors, and I’ve seen a number of 20 something hipsters walking around inside.
