We’ve passed the pension abuse reform (as Charley notes, it’s not the ultimate reform of the funding of the system which we also need). Now we need to push the other two legs of the current reform stool, ethics reform and transportation reform, through. Governor Patrick is calling for the ethics reform to include an outright banning of gifts to elected officials, and to strengthen instead of weaken the ethics commission (the bill being worked on in the lege weakened it).
In transit reform, we need to simplify the agencies and make them accountable, and also change the funding mechanisms for much of our transit system.

There are big problems, so it will take a lot of work, reform and money to get back on track.
