This morning as I opened up the Lowell Sun on-line, and searched for the Column, this is what I found:
The Column, a look behind-the-scenes at local and state politics, can be read in the print editions of The Sunday Sun, and in the Sun’s Electronic Edition.
For home delivery, visit https://secure.medianewsgroup.com/subscriptions/html/index.jsp?siteid=105
To learn more about the e-edition, visit http://www.ethesun.com/
For a list of vendors who carry The Sun, visit http://www.lowellsun.com/vendors
I do not know how many people this impacts? It would be limited to those of us who don’t buy the hard copy and are interested in what The Column has to say, I guess.
It will of course prevent bloggers from linking to the paper. Don’t they want additional hits! Maybe we do not send enough traffic to their site.
As for a business model for the Sun, I have stopped long time ago trying to figure that out. I know that they have to be profitable in order to exist but I do not know if limiting viewers to your web site wil help accomplish that.
So, anything of interest in this week’s The Column?
