If you listen to WCAP or read the Lowell Sun today, you’ll see or hear ads from Move Lowell Forward PAC (I am co-chair along with Cliff Krieger of Right-Side-of-Lowell). Thanks to generous contributions from a lot of people we could afford to buy advertising to reach out to voters ahead of this Tuesday’s elections.
The funny thing is our placement - you can view a picture of our ad at our website. See if you can spot whose head will explode. After co-opting our phrase in every city council meeting and speech for the last month, it’s telling that our ad shows up next to someone whose name does not appear in our endorsement list. That list of candidates is the main reason for our taking out the ad in the first place.
You can also listen to our WCAP radio ads on our website as well!
And I would like to remind people that Move Lowell Forward is NOT Left in Lowell. Though Cliff and I (both bloggers, though from different sides of the aisle so to speak) are the co chairs, this PAC is made up of a great group of people from all walks of life, and the prime driver of everything we do comes from these people. I can truly say that my input, while useful occasionally, is NOT the impetus behind everything we do. Cliff and I took the co-chairmenship because someone needed to, but I have never had the pleasure of working with a more diverse, motivated, and smart group of people as I have with Move Lowell Forward. We will be continuing in our capacity as a municipal PAC after this election, and though we’re focused right now on Tuesday, so we don’t know the exact form that will take, you can be sure that we are not going anywhere.
Our sincere thanks go out to the donors and the volunteers that have made our contribution to this debate and election possible.

Our sincere thanks go out to the donors and the volunteers that have made our contribution to this debate and election possible.
And on that note, if anyone is interested in doing visibility on Election Day, MLF is looking for volunteers during the peak voting hours: 7-9am and then from 4-8pm. If you can put in a 2 hour shift, we would be stoked, as well as grateful. Please contact me, Jack, at movelowellforward@gmail.com
On the ad placement, I think it symbolic of the voters’ choice. They can vote on WHICH way they prefer to move Lowell forward because it will no matter what. HOW it goes forward, that is the big question.
It is very possible, that the voters will choose to compromise. Keeping some predictible assets on hand, while bring in some fresh ideas and modern vision to the Council. Whatever the outcome, folks are invited to join MLF in the process of keeping strict tabs on the next Council.
