This is it kids. The election is on the line, as is health care reform, oversight over banks (Brown wants them to go on business as usual), climate legislation, you name it, Brown is FUBAR on it, so get hopping to one of these phone bank sessions, capiche?

No Barry isn’t but I became friends with Barry and so I tried to help him out. I admit Jack that I tend to support people I like regardless what they are labeled and vote for people who agree with what I believe in. I label myself a conservative Democrat because I don’t think I am as far left as many democrats on this site.
I’m for charging prisoners a daily housing fee-I’m for the death penalty especially when a Police Officer or Prison Guard is killed in the line of duty,(I believe that should be an automatic death penalty offense.) I’m for testing elderly drivers once they reach 75 years old.
I believe in a womens right to choose and believe that all state monies budgeted and not used should go back to the general fund not be allowed to carry over unlimited or un-audited. I believe if you are a Councilor or School Committee person any member of your family should not get a job in any area you have any financial control over. I believe that we need to toughen Ethics Laws for Elected officials so they can’t represent unions, cities/town in contract negotiations while serving in the MA HOUSE or Senate and to tighten controls on lobbyists and PAC donations…..Thanks for asking (or for at least providing an opening for me to list what I believe)
Can’t find much fault with those positions, Gerry.
In politics, it is hard to be everything to everbody. I don’t think you need to parrot for the Party. It just bugs me to see you playing patty cake with Brown supporters.
Jack, why bother?
I’m a registered independent and am getting bombarded with ‘Martha’ calls from all over the place and some from Brown as well. If I planned to vote for her all the “SEIU” calls would have changed my mind.
Got three calls from the Brown camp today.
Both camps are going all out , i wonder what research said calling people is a good thing when most people get angry especially after the 1st call. If they would limit it to one maybe people wouldn’t mind.
Jack I’m not sure about patty cake but I like Browns position especially on the health care issue which is why I’d like to see him win. Loretta believe it or not I’m actually a fun guy to have a reasonable conversation with.
I just drove by Cafe Paradiso, the wake seems somewhat well attended although I did not see a smile in the place.
I am a registered independent and had two calls from Browns campaign yesterday. Both callers spent a whole 20 minutes on the phone with me convincing me to vote for Brown…Ha,ha,ha best 40 minutes I could spend to help Coakley!
I am a Dem, have always voted Dem, and have given thousands to Dem candidates, yet got SEVEN calls from the Brown campaign and right-wing groups on Saturday, and one this morning at 8:30. I love that they’re wasting their money calling me, but at 8:30 on a Sunday morning? Ugh.
I previously said I was bombarded with Martha calls but Brown calls have caught up with a vengeance. This happened when Nicki was running too. Don’t they realize how negatively these calls are perceived? Thank God for caller ID.
What should be happening is that a central database should be updated when someone is called and contact is made, along with a determination about that person - leaner, supporter, voting for the other guy, or DND. (Do Not Disturb.) But in the last leg of a campaign things move so fast that sometimes this organization gets a little messy.
Fact is, RiL, that GOTV phone calls work, or no one would do them. The number of your supporters that you remind to go vote and who wind up doing so is worth the 2% of people who bitch about having their precious phone ring a few times.
Hell, are we that much of a complaining society, that some robocalls and a couple of live calls turn us off of voting? Is our life that easy that this is the most onerous thing happening to us? What a bunch of whiners. I’ve gotten so many robocalls I’ve lost count. All I do is just hang up or delete them from my VM. My god. And gently inform the live Coakley call I got that yes we will vote and thank you very much.

We need to punch the teabaggers so hard in the nose that Glenn Beck’s nose will bleed.

Cause there’s nothing people like better than a phone call on a Friday Night or weekend.
When I was with the Finegold campaign the biggest complaint I heard was about the non stop phone calls.
This strategy could really backfire
January 15th, 2010 at 10:21 pm
Gerry if that strategy is to backfire then it would be against Scott Brown right now. If I get another pre recorded call my head may explode! I am a bit concerned that I just assumed that a dem would win this seat.

Finegold? He is not a ConservaDem. You certainly are an enigma.

I’m hoping Scott Brown wins next week and the more conservative members of the democratic party wake up and reclaim the party of our fathers.
If she loses in the most liberal state with Obamas’ pal as Gov. then the Republican Party all over the country will be celebrating ans using MA. as their centerpiece in reclaiming the House and Senate.
