Democracy in action!!! The consituency i.e. residents, neighborhood groups, business community came forward to speak their mind, express their opinion, put forward their agenda AND they were heard, respected and the vote TALLIED! Manage, Mr Manager was the message!!!

I was there. Every one of the Councilors support the motion. Only 6 voted for it, though. It had something to do with Pangy saying the sky was falling, so 3 voted no.
Also, some Republican Taxpayer something or other was quoted profusely, saying that Gov. Patrick’s budget was hogwash. This somehow reinforced the notion that the sky is falling.
I love it when councilors say, “Move Lowell Forward.” I’m such an easy date.

Wouldn’t a decent “Data Analyst” make more than $60k? I would think 60k would be a starting salary for such a job in the private sector.
March 3rd, 2010 at 12:14 pm
I’m flattered…..

The 40-60 range is what the analysts make in other communities that use CitiStat. They would be paid more in the private sector.

Yeah it’s a tad low probably. But all that means is that you’ve got to have a strategy of getting someone young and talented. Someone of talent that is nearer the beginning of their career, but with enough of a track record that demonstrates ability. They are out there. I’ve seen these kinds of people in other fields. I’m sure Mendonca has seen people like this in technical fields as well.

According to CC Mendonca, it appears as though the MIS department doesn’t really do much, considering how many people they have. Do they really need that many people to just fix pcs? Maybe MIS is a good place to start cutting people to fund this position (after all, with 150 less people in the City, do they really need all of these MIS people)?

Wow bud is such a blowhard, and hes his biggest fan, hey bud the election is over you won a seat on the council, at least i found rita a little amusing in her opinion on the position with the cooks and all but when bud looks at the manager and says he loves a good debate and waxes on and on about pure nonsense i want to hang myself, i think i would rather he sing a song.

Guess who’s coming to dinner??
March 3rd, 2010 at 9:47 pm
PC: At least it isn’t Willie Lantigua and his $10K curtains. Oh and the $35M we’re all pumping into Lawrence. This state is awesome. Just when you think we’ve got it bad in Lowell I look at Lawrence and say it isn’t that bad.
March 4th, 2010 at 2:57 pm
I know we got it made in Lowell. Lawrence is in deep doo-doo. And I’m not saying this position is a bad thing, either.
