Today from 3 to 7 is the Lowell farmer’s market out on the City Hall plaza, so support your local farmers and stop by!
Tomorrow is the last Downtown Lowell Sidewalk Sale, a coordinated effort by downtown businesses to give shoppers a place to go on the weekends. The sale goes from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Particiapting businesses include: Humanity, Cravings, Gissy’s Boutique, Metro PCS Wireless for All, Welles Emporium, Giovanni’s Trends, Downtown Dancewear, Monkeys Ice Cream & Gifts, Sweet Lydia’s.
Please support your downtown!
And finally, everyone knows that a week from now, begins the Lowell Folk Festival. I will definitely see you there! I might have stupidly missed it the first few years I lived around here, but now…I go every year! You can come and see the new crosswalks, which are just about done.

might be nice if it was a well marketed plan to the entire city AND they stayed open past 4pm, given that most working folk get out of work ’round 4-5pm. Would think they’d give a little bit of leeway to folks trying to get back into the city from work. Perhaps next time they plan such events they can plan on staying open til 9pm. Just sayin’.

Excellent point. I live downtown and this is the first I have heard of a sidewalk sale. Changing the hours of the farmer’s market was a great idea.
