Tonight is truly an embarrassment to the city. I am particularly disgusted by the theatrics of Rodney Elliott, as well as the weakness of many other councilors.

As always, Rodney Elliott proves to be the weak link in what I see as the best and most productive council in years. When meeting seems to be heading in a positive direction Rodney brings the whole room to a stand still.

The biggest problem is the other councilors do not stand up to him and just let him throw accusations and untruths.

I keep coming back to the word “unhinged” whenever referring to Councilor Elliot.
Also “hysterics” and “childish” and “wicked RUDE.”
Thank god Bernie (AND Adam!) bit back, politely, but devastatingly. There is no one in this city with more integrity than Adam Baacke, who the hell is Elliot to give him a dressing down because Elliot is stupidly eating up Sun headlines and crapping them out without digesting any facts first?
Adam, if you read this, you were superb and just the right amount of firm on your points over the “hookups” debate. Thank you for your excellent service to this city. Please don’t let Elliot run you off, we need you. Don’t leave us! You either, City Manager Lynch!

There is a repeating issue here, and that is the SUN writes headlines that slant an otherwise fair story. If I were the writer I would not be very happy when the editor used my story for another purpose.

How bad is it when a sitting city councillor doesn’t have the juice to get a toilet hooked up? Pretty pathetic.

He had the whole council unanimously ready to jump all over the issue to move it forward, but Rodney wasn’t ready to move on and get it done - he had to be a brat first.

Joe…OMG, Adam’s answer on the LHA gas stove hookup inspections….about the misleading Sun headline…I was like, where have I seen THAT before? Oh yeah, like every week!
I remember this one story years ago, which was a pretty positive article on the year-over year increase in test scores for Lowell’s students, and the headline was like “LOWELL IS SHIT, ITS SCHOOLS SUCK.”
I hate the way the Sun is run.
