Another Hiatus

by at 4:41 pm.

So, until we know the lay of the land with a permanent City Manager, with such pathetic agendas with few motions (this week it’s 5), Blowup of the Week is on vacation. Here’s the agenda.

However, note this:

9.4 C. Belanger - Req. City Mgr. provide a report on income produced on .75 additional meals tax enacted July 1, 2010.

Is Belanger going to use his position as city councilor every week to attack/direct policies that affect his own business, or just most weeks, instead? *rolls eyes*

VERY carefully written motion too! But the idea is to stir the pot, lift out some spaghetti strands, throw them against the wall and see if anything sticks! It’s also another “Bernie slap” where if the revenue is low they can bash him some more even though he’s no longer around.

The answer to your question is…yes.

  3. Publius Says:

Everyone in the city has a vested interest.

A taxpayer’s vested interest is having city meals tax removed for when they go out to eat. The taxpayer is overburdened by taxes in this state. By reducing taxes, a taxpayer gets a pay increase. If Belanger’s query, reduces taxes all the more power to him.

Lynne, you are suggesting the Belanger is using his position for his own benefit. Actually, the removal of the tax would benefit most business owners and all taxpayer.

The city council has met 10 times. Can you come up with just six times that Belanger has filed a motion that benefits his business?
